Enjoying Your Trip

A very useful public transportation vehicle in Metropolitan area is this: Tren Urbano subway. On a recent Saturday, some people took a trip at San Francisco station at 3:17pm. This subway has 16 stations from Bayamón to San Juan.

Kendra Martínez, student of Horticulture at University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, loves to kayak on weekends with her friends. She had been kayaking across lakes and beaches since she was a teenager. “Jasmín (most distant girl) and I love kayaking every time we can after university.”

Wilbert Vargas, a Physical Education student at University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, is enjoying off road trip with his four track on a recent Sunday. He gave all in the mud to feed that adrenaline inside his body.  “You cannot win a fight unless you give your best.”

She is Mrs. Rodríguez, a very proud student at University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, also known as Colegio. She was having fun with her skateboard and wearing her Colegio’s t-shirt at the neighbor on a recent Friday’s evening. “It is hard to learn how to ride, but, once you are done, nothing will takes away that skill from you.”

Golf cars are common small vehicles also used for transportation between buildings such in this case. This golf car was used for security purposes at a condominium in Bayamón. The security company who manage the vehicles is called Blue Sword Security.

This is a man sitting on his wheelchair and is playing a special basketball game at Colegio (UPR – Mayagüez). On a recent Thursday, this handicap guy was invited to play a special basketball game with other students from Colegio and it demonstrated there is no excuse in life. Healthy students noticed how difficult was playing in his circumstances and they admired his courage to pursue his dreams.

Abnel Hernández, a Nursing student at University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, is having fun with his Jeep on an extreme off road trip. He had drove his Jeep to craziest places, such here he was extremely off road.  “You don’t know how deep you are until the engine stop running. That is why I love this feeling.

Alexandra Rodríguez, 23, a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez, paddle boards with her son at el Maní beach on a recent Saturday. Rodríguez has paddle boarded for the past 10 years, long before her son was born. “I like to take my son paddle boarding to show him the beauty of nature and to teach him to gain self-confidence.”

Edwin Pérez, a Graphic Arts student at University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez, is riding his bike with his legs on the road. He had been riding these kind of bikes since he was 16. “I like came to classes in my bike because it is easier due to high traffic in Mayagüez.”

The second girl from left to right hand is SolimarEnríquez, student at University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, enjoying sunset at the beach. She was with her four best friends sharing her passion: skateboards. “Although we are not biological sisters, our similarity in everything make us a family,” concluded Solimar Enríquez.

Nathaly Vásquez, a Pre-Veterinary student at University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, enjoys being with animals every day of her life. The best decision she made was selecting Pre-Veterinary as her career. “Healing the ones that cannot talk makes me feels like a super hero.”

Charluz Arocho, a Pre-Veterinary student at University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, is getting ready for sky hang gliding. She was relaxing after high stress caused by university. “I love this. Extreme actions take you to wonderful places.”

Here is an important vehicle for protecting our coasts: FURA’s (Quick Action United Forces, for their Spanish’s abbreviation) boat. This boat was caught monitoring coast of Piñones, Loíza. FURA was established on 1986 by Executive Order 4546-B.

Ashley Bustelos, 19, student of Business Management at Interamerican University – San Juan, is running skates. She started in roller derby when she was 9 and now she is member of Enchanted Island Roller Derby League. “I love this sport; it is my passion. I came here and forgets anything bad happened during the day.”

José Robles is at Levittown’s beach after riding his bicycle across Paseo Lineal facilities in Bayamón. On a recent Saturday’s morning, he made the entire route with his son, so he ran a total of 20 kilometers. “I like to ride my fixie (bicycle model) with my son, so both of us keeps healthy. This route is beautiful.”

This Westfalia is an iconic Volkswagen vehicle and we see how showy is thanks to their colors and stickers, which makes her different. This Westfaia was seen far away from his hometown in Alemania; it was in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. The first Westfalia were built in 1950 and it stills alive today.
