Since always, he has been responsible of this chore for this big celebration. “Seasonig the turkey is the most important issue, the turkey is the centerpiece of the food and if the food does not tastes good, the dinner is a failure.”
Solange Vázquez,59, making the stuffing of the turkey. It is a mixture of three types of meat and green and yellow platains. After being prepared, it is introduced into the empty central cabide of the turkey, so when one reaches the center of the turkey, the center has food. “Since I was little, mom taught me to prepare the turkey stuffing, and of all my sisters, I was the only one that learned how to prepare it like her. Is a famialiar recipe that comes from many years ago.”
Irma Idalia Vazquez,57, making potato salad with all the ingredients. The secret ingredients of this potato salad are apples and the mixture of the family’s mojito that contains lemon juice, oregano and garlic. “I like to prepare potato salad because it does not involves effort and is easy to do.”

The table prepared with different meals that families González-Vázquez, González-Serrano and Cosme-Vázquez taste the day of Thanksgiving dinner . Turkey clothing belonged to Juan Carlos González, macaroni salad and rice with sausage was done by Carmen Luisa Vázquez, stuffing the turkey was in charge of Solange Vázquez, potato salad was done by Irma Idalia Vázquez and the desserts by José Rafael Vázquez. A family that eats together stays together and all the food on the table and the dishes that represent our household.
Most of the participants of Thanksgiving dinner enjoying their food. The table was not big enough, so some ate on the balcony of the house, others like José Rafael González and Felix González remained standing. “The food was delicious and makes it better that you are enjoying a meal together with the people you love most,” said Carmen Luisa Vázquez.
Frances Sofía Cosme,14, enjoying in a very traditional way: eating a turkey’s thigh with her hands. According to her mother Carmen, “seriously” is her favorite phrase and it appeared while taking the photo. “There is no better way to taste a turkey’s thigh than with my hands and is tastier,” affirmed Frances.
Marylin Serrano, 28; Felix Gonzalez, 34; and Megan Nicole Gonzalez, 2; members of the González Serrano family. Felix has always been “the clown” of the family and is always joking around with everyone. “Thanksgiving for us symbolizes family unity and the day to give thanks to God for the thousand of blessings to us, health and the privileged to see Megan grow up healthy, happy and full of energy,” said Marylin and Felix.
Carmen Luisa Vazquez, 58; and Frances Cosme, 14 members of Cosme-Vázquez family. Frances is the youngest grandchild of the family and therefore is protected and pampered by all her cousins. “For me, Thanksgiving dinner is the perfect moment to be grateful with God for all the opportunities and blessings that he has given us through all the year, ”said Carmen.

Irma and Felix have been together for 36 years in marriage and have never lost a Thanksgiving dinner with my family. His younger son José accompanies them in the picture with his grandmother, the mother of Felix. “For me, Thanksgiving Day is synonymous of happiness, unity and joys to see my two son develop as professional and see my granddaughter grow full of health,” said Irma.

Solange Marie is the youngest daughter of Carlos and the only daughter of Solange, therefore, is the darling of the house and his parents are very protective with her. “For me, Thanksgiving dinnerv symbolizes family union, fraternization with our family and closest friends and one moment to thank very much to God for what he has given us,” said Solange Vazquez.
Chronology of González-Vázquez brothers stuck on a piece of cheseecake. Felix González was sipping a exquisite piece of cheseecake when José Rafael González came to take a bite, after a little spat Felix had to agree to give José a little piece and at the end with a face of defeat. However, these brothers get along well and after 2 minutes everything was as if nothing had happened. The most convencing comment of José to Felix was “I am your brother and you’re genetically predisposed to share everything with me.”

Many of them are from remote towns and is a family tradition that after dinner everyone gathers to discuss their lives, the passage of time and how things change year after year and of course you can not miss the stories of previous years. “I like to spend time as well, all together sharing our memories and flashbacks,” said Solange Vázquez.
